Over Here!

It's gotten to the point where Lebron James has probably even gotten under his own mother's skin. We know, King, that you're the face of the NBA and you're a really good player (win a championship and I'll call you great). But will you, for the love of god, just shut the fuck up already? Is it my bias against the NBA that is creating this hatred of Lebron? Or are NBA fans even sick of his charade? People, it's a Celtics-Lakers final! For basketball purists, it can't possibly get better than that. You've already got douchebags at the LA Times making fun of Paul Pierce for getting stabbed! Now I'm no Pierce fan (the guys a whimp beyond belief and dives all over the place), but Ted Green clearly crossed the line on that one. Does he not realize that he's got a rapist in LA and Ron Artest? Come on Ted, wake up buddy. But that's the rivalry! How are people embracing Lebron James over this?

It's pathetic that all this attention is given to a guy who has proven he can't win when it counts! He gets eliminated by the "underdog" Celts, and instead of taking a month off to figure out why he failed this time (he knows his elbow is fine, so it's not that), he goes on a tour of North America promoting his status as the league's top free agent. It's not all his fault, though, because the media seems to be fascinated beyond belief by this scrub. On Larry King, it became "Breaking News" that Lebron said Cleveland had the "edge" in signing him. But, knowing his audience, Lebron couldn't resist adding a little suspense to the situation by saying that the Clippers are a possibility because "it's a great city." Oh, and he had a brilliant idea where he and the "other" free agents (Wade, Bosh, Dirk) would all meet together to "try and make the league better."

On a side note, maybe he can take an English class or two for the next time he goes on Larry King... "These fans has given me a lot." You speaka da Engrish very well, Rebron!

I hope this guy signs with the Clippers, so that Kobe and all his rapist friends can torment him every year. Because you know Kobe will have what it takes to win in the playoffs even when he's 40 and Lebron is still in his prime.

    Dunbar,

I absolutely love the post. You make a lot of great points. Love him or hate him, you can't argue how obnoxious his marketing ploys have become. It's an old act already; I get you're great, dude. Congrats. I'm totally with you. Enjoy and talk about the finals. It's very A-Rod-esque of him to take the spotlight away (2007 World Series announcing he was becoming a free agent from the Yanks) from the finals. I don't really care about you, dude. We're in the finals and you're not. Have fun rapping with Drake and going on Larry King while KG and Rondo and co. win another championship. Peace out, jerk.

  2. Listen... I am a fan of Lebron's game, not all the media hype surrounding him but do you understand that Lebron would sky-rocket any teams value.

In terms of dollars, whatever team signs Lebron would generate roughly around 2.6 BILLION!!!! That number is indeed in the billions, not millions.

Highly regarded economists figure out this number. This figure way determined over a 7 year period with Lebron winning 2 championships, which is likely.

There is a reason he gets so much attention but it is not his fault... its ESPN.

Wils, what makes you use the term "likely" when it comes to Lebron winning TWO championships in the next seven years?

He's been in the league seven years already and hasn't even come close to winning ONE, let alone too.

Can anyone say "next Karl Malone?"
